About erJ

Jewellery for Life

Fall in Love Forever

erJ is my jewellery studio, based in London. I design and make pieces that are meant to be worn every day, jewellery that becomes part of your life, not something saved for special occasions.

Each piece is handmade by me using recycled silver and gold. My designs are shaped by the city around me, its movement, textures and contrasts, and by the small, often unnoticed details that catch my eye. I want the jewellery to feel considered but easy, timeless but effortless.

erJ stands for Emily Runc Jewellery. I started the brand to create jewellery you can fall in love with again and again, pieces that evolve with you and feel right however you wear them.

My Story

Before erJ, I spent nine years running a vegan catering and street food business. Being vegan for over 15 years, making thoughtful choices has always mattered to me, but during the pandemic, I realised I was missing creativity in my work.

That time gave me the space to retrain as a jeweller at the British Academy of Jewellery in Hatton Garden. It was there that everything clicked. I found a way to combine design, making, and responsibility without compromise.

I didn’t want to create jewellery that felt trend-led or disposable. I wanted to make pieces with longevity, both in how they’re made and how they’re worn.

The Design Process

London plays a big role in how I design. The curve of a door handle, worn stone steps, reflections in shop windows, these are the details that stay with me. I’m constantly taking photos, sketching, and collecting small visual moments that later find their way into my work.

Every piece begins by hand, usually as a sketch, before developing through wax carving and metalwork. Some designs come together quickly, others take months of refining. I take my time with the shape, weight and balance, so each piece feels right when worn.

The result is jewellery that’s tactile, balanced, and made to last.

Looking Ahead

As erJ grows, my focus stays the same: creating jewellery that feels meaningful, wearable and well made. I’ll continue exploring new ideas and techniques, always guided by movement, shape and the quiet beauty of everyday details.

Thank you for being here, I hope you find a piece that feels like it belongs to you.
